Research Administration Summary
The portfolio for the Harvard College Observatory is comprised of more than 22 Principal Investigators totaling $50.8M with a variety of federal and non-federal funding sources. Our goal is provide excellent pre- and post-award research administration assistance to our Principal Investigators while adhering to all applicable federal, sponsor, and University guidelines.
Proposal Development & Submission
- Assist with the development of budgets and proposal packages for public and private awards.
- Liaise with collaborators, subcontractors, and their administrators to initiate proposals.
- Facilitate proposal review by HCO, Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), and the Faculty of Arts and Sciences Research Administration Services (FAS RAS).
Award & Personnel Management
- Provide financial projections and strategy advice on proper use of funds.
- Coordinate with counterparts at affiliate and collaborator institutions
- Monitor sub-contract budgets, including the review and processing of subcontract invoices
- Manage the effort reporting process
