About:

Conor Ransome is a postdoctoral fellow in the Institute for Theory and Computation working with Prof. Ashley Villar.  Conor is predominantly an observational astronomer focusing on interacting transients such as the enigmatic type IIn supernovae with an aim to uncover their progenitor systems via photometric, spectroscopic, and environmental observations.

Education:

PhD in Astrophysics from the Astrophysics Research Institute, Liverpool John Moores University (2022)

MPhys in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Durham (2017)

Hobbies/Interests:

Conor’s interests include gaming, aquaria, trivia of all varieties, traveling, and being a craft beer snob.
