Board game lunch – hosted by Brandon Lazo! These board game lunches will be held every 2 weeks on Tuesday at 12pm in the lobby! Eventually, I plan to see if space can be held in the library once we’ve expanded and need more space.
Feel free to join in whenever you’re available and/or let others know! I will happily do my best to try and include and accommodate for as many people as possible.
FAQ:
What board games will we play?
Well… not entirely sure! I plan to bring games in and try to keep it rotating. I will keep a list of the games that I have brought (maybe games others have as well), that way, if there is a particular game someone is itching to try and play, I can definitely bring it in!
However, I will announce the board game I plan to bring typically via email! Email me at brandon.lazo@cfa.harvard.edu if you would like to be added to the mailing list to stay informed about what game I (or others) plan to bring.
How many people can join?
That is a tough question to answer. As many people as possible is the answer that I would like to give! However, most board games are typically meant for 4-5 people. So, with that in mind, I typically try to bring two board games with me! If the group needs to be split, so be it! The goal for the group is to be inclusive! Hey, maybe we can bend the rules a bit to fit an extra person or two if necessary!
I, myself, play with a large group of friends at home (between 4-8 players!), so sometimes we’ll bend the rules a bit or figure something out to make space for an extra person. Otherwise, I do have a couple of board games that fit a larger group. However, they aren’t well suited for board game lunch due to the time constraint 🙁
But remember:
Where there’s a will, there’s a way!
What kind of board games will be played?
Both cooperative and competitive games will be brought! Most games that I personally own are competitive, but I do have cooperatives that are fun!
In terms of genre: any and all!
Can I bring my own board game?
Of course! Just keep in mind that you will have to teach, set up, and play the board game all within the timeframe of an hour. The hardest part!
Is it only board games?
Not exactly. While the original idea of this is for board games, it doesn’t necessarily have to be! Card games, TTRPGs, board games, etc.! The main thing to keep in mind is the time constraint. Can it be taught, set up, and played within an hour?
